The late 1980s/early 1990s was the golden era for hightop hoops shoes. But although Mike was more of a Mid-to-Low man, it hasn’t stopped the brand from paying homage to the aesthetical era on more than one occasion. The Jordan Flight 45, though been missing from retails for five-or-so years, is the brand’s tribute to the period. Though it hints at previous Js without calling out to specific retros outside of the obvious Air Jordan 3 sole, its next colorway tackles two of the Air Jordan 11’s OG colorways (and its materials).
The Jordan Flight 45 “Concord” delivers a colorway obviously inspired by the Eleven of the same name, with white mesh uppers, jet black patent leather toe, heel and mudguard overlays, and a sprinkling of Concord accents throughout. It’s sole unit, however, looks to Mike’s 1996 All-Star Game kicks, the Jordan 11 “Columbia” AKA “Legend Blue” through the installation of a semi-translucent aqua blue rubber outsole as seen on the sneaker’s 2014 retro release.
